LAP is looking for a new Board Member!
As a general board member, you will attend board meetings, and support the overall functioning of the board and its objectives. The LAP board currently consists of 10 enthusiastic PhD Candidates. While everybody has tasks of preference, we have board meetings every 2-3 weeks, and regular meetings with the Dean, the Graduate School, and other LUMC parties.
In return, you get to learn about the ins and outs of the LUMC, work with a diverse board of motivated fellow PhD candidates who want to make a difference for the PhD community, and you can have the chance to bring your ideas to life and see them flourish in practice! We look forward to meeting you! Send us an e-mail and we can plan a meeting to get to know each other!

PhD department representation
In several LUMC departments, PhD candidates are represented by a departmental PhD representation. Over the past year, LAP met twice with the PhD representatives to establish connections and share experiences. The next meeting is planned on Tuesday September 23 from 12.00-13.00 in P-05-034 (main building/building 1). We will discuss the implementation of the new LUMC PhD Thesis Framework, updates from the Graduate School, developments within departments and LAP, and updates from the Graduate School and other LUMC suborganisations.
Are you a member of a departmental PhD representation and not invited yet? Or is there no PhD representation at your department yet, but would you like to know more about setting one up? Please join the upcoming meeting or send us an e-mail at LAP@lumc.nl.
New version SOP data life cycle
The SOP Data Life Cycle guides you through the steps to take for good data stewardship. All steps of data stewardship are plotted in the research data life cycle. The last set of topics - planning data acquisition, metadata and standards, data documentation, promoting, sharing, and reusing existing data - have been added. Zenya now contains full versions of three documents on data stewardship:
1. LUMC Guideline Research Data Stewardship DS01 (GRP/DS) (versie 12)
2. SOP Data Life Cycle - DS02 (GRP/DS) (versie 6)
3. Framework for Departmental SOP Data Stewardship - DS03 (GRP/DS) (versie 6)
