This year's theme emphasizes the merit of sharing science with a broader audience and the value of collaborating with colleagues across diverse disciplines. Vitality Box Masterclass
Working in an academic hospital can feel like being a top athlete: performing under pressure, full schedules, deadlines, criticism, setbacks... Are you able to take breaks and manage your stress levels on such days? In this masterclass by Katja Cardol (PhD) - sports & health psychologist and mental performance coach for the professional cycling team Red Bull-BORA-Hansgrohe - the role of stress in wellbeing and vitality will be addressed. In this interactive lecture, she will share how to apply mental skills from top sports to manage your PhD life. After having experienced a challenging PhD herself, Katja Cardol now works as a trainer for The Vitality Box, the vitality program for all LUMC employees. Webinar on Imposter Syndrome
February 12 (16:00-17:00) an online webinar will take place on the topic of Imposter Syndrome in Academia. Dr Holly Hutchins (University of North Texas) will share her research on the topic, and we will have time for an interactive discussion. Please register here for free.

Sustainability conference for students & PhD candidates in The Hague: apply by 1 March
Are you passionate about shaping a sustainable future? Keen to tackle real-world challenges together with students from many different disciplines and institutions across Europe? If so, apply to be one of six students or PhD candidates who will represent Leiden University at Una Europa’s seventh Student Congress from 9–12 June 2026. This event will be inspiring, interdisciplinary and highly interactive.
